The Club's competitive hurling season finally came to an end last Sunday (Dec 1st 2013), and in the best possible fashion with a County Championship victory at U15-A1.

The lads won against Mountbellew-Moylough on a scoreline of 0:09 to 0:05. It has been a long hard season for these young hurlers, all of whom represented the Club at a number of age levels, and we are delighted to see them get this reward for their efforts. The game itself was of a very high standard given the time of year. There was evidence of nerves from both sides early on, but as the game opened up Cashel edged ahead and managed to stay there. There was never much of a gap on the scoreboard and both teams had goal chances, but overall Cashel played the better hurling and were very deserving winners. Team captain Robert Griffin accepted the trophy, well done to him and the whole team who all rose to the occasion and worked incredibly hard. The man of the match award went to Martin Connolly, who must have covered every blade of grass in Kenny Park in his efforts to secure the win. Well done to manager Murt Connolly and all the team mentors for producing such a fit and organised team.
