Our U13 hurlers qualified for this years A-Championship County Final thanks to an excellent semi final victory over Clarinbridge. Clarinbridge have set the standard for juvenile hurling in Galway in recent years and they were victorious when these sides met in the group stages in June. So it was set to be both a test of the lads self belief and their ability when the two sides met in the semi finals. Castlegar opened the scoring, but with the wind in their favour Clarinbridge opened a five point lead as the half progressed. Many teams would have caved in at this point, but these lads have a huge amount of competitive hurling under their belts this season and were never going to be brushed aside. They pulled the gap back to two points at the break and with wind advantage to come they knew they were in with a real chance. The second half was an even tougher battle than the first with The Bridge calling on all their talent and experience to try and maintain their lead. But Cashel got their noses in front and kept them there to record a great victory. The final score was Castlegar 0:14 - Clarinbridge 0:12.

The second semi final saw Turloughmore defeat Athenry in a game which could have gone either way. The final is fixed to be played in Kenny Park, Athenry at 7:15 on Thursday evening Sept 5th.
