An improving Cashel u-12 team took on champions and hot favorites Clarinbridge at Duggan Park in an enthralling game,

playing against the breeze cashel defended very well and held the bridge to 0-4 to 0-1 halftime score with Oisin Connolly getting the point after his goal effort was deflected over.The bridge added another two quick points with cashel responding with a fine Philip o Connor point from midfield and another Connolly effort from twenty yards then a massive clearance by Jack Coyne deceived the bridge keeper and the game was tied.Dangerman Niland added one from play and their towering centreback O Brien added a 65 with the cashel forwards getting plenty of ball up stepped Oisin Connolly and Mathew Kilgannon to get the vital scores to secure the draw 0-8 to 1-5 .

The entire cashel team fought for every ball and showed great heart to the finish,Aaron Connolly in goals made two great saves,cornerbacks Ronan Hennessey and Mark Gill gave nothing away with full back Robert Griffen battling gamely with Niland all day,wingbacks Larry Swan and John o Connell were rock solid throughout with Philip o Connor putting in some rousing clearance's ,Jack Coyne gave another masterful midfield display ably assisted by the hardworking Cathal Wall,wing forwards Martin Connolly and Mathew Kilgannon ran at the bridge defence all day to great effect while Daniel Keary never gave in to the towering O Brien ,Oisin Connolly was dangerous all through and took his points well, Rhys Higgins made some vital interceptions when moved to full back while Alan Duggan battled hard to the finish.The replay will probably be in September as Clarinbridge declined to play extra time.
